Zim and Hapag-Lloyd add Miami – Central America link through slots

Zim and Hapag-Lloyd this month individually start slotting on the new Florida to Centram loop, launched in July by Simatech USA, an offshoot of the Dubai-based container Line Simatech.

The service calls at Miami, Santo Tomas de Castilla (Guatemala) and Puerto Cortes (Honduras). The weekly single-ship loop is maintained with the 1,083 teu STADT RENDSBURG, a geared CV 1100 standard type ship chartered from Thien & Heyenga of Hamburg.

Zim started slotting on August 19, whilst Hapag-Lloyd’s start date is the 27 August. Another slot partner, Evergreen Marine, has been participating since the launch of the service on 22 July.
