Evergreen Marine Singapore, a company within the Taiwanese Evergreen Group, has taken delivery of the 9,200 teu EVER LIVING. The ship is the 15th of 30 units in the carrier’s series of new L-cass ships.
The EVER LIVING is also the first ship of the series that was built at CSBC Kaohsiung. The Taiwanese shipyard is to build ten of the 30 L-class vessels, whereas Samsung Heavy Industries of South Korea will build a total of 20 units. The new vessel follows the Samsung-built EVER LEGION, delivered in July.
Evergreen will phase the EVER LIVING into its ‘ANN’ Far East to Northern Europe service, offered in cooperation with Hanjin. The weekly service has a round-trip duration of 77 days and it is presently maintained with nine ships and two skipped sailings per cycle. Evergreen provides eight of the loop’s ships, all 9,200 teu L-classes, and junior partner Hanjin provides one 8,500 teu vessel.
In September, the next round of upgrades of the ‘ANN’ will begin with the phase-in of Evergreen’s first 13,800 teu container ship: The THALASSA HELLAS is long-term chartered from Greece’s Lemos Group and will be managed by Ensel S.A..
