STXPO drop-out prompts Yang Ming and CNC to end ‘CTS’ Korea – China – Vietnam service

With immediate effect, Yang Ming and Cheng Lie Navigation (CNC) are putting a stop to the Korea – China – Vietnam ‘CTS’ service, which the two carriers so far operated in partnership with the ill-fated STX PanOcean.

The weekly fixed-day loop was maintained by three 1,550 to 1,706 teu capacity vessels on a 21-day round trip. It called at the following ports: Incheon, Qingdao, Shanghai, Ho Chi Minh City, Laem Chabang, Hong Kong, Shekou (Shenzhen), Incheon.

Apart from a slot participation on a Hanjin and Coscon-operated CYKH Med – Far East – WCNA service, the ‘CTS’ closure leaves Yang Ming without any direct links between Korea and Vietnam. The Taiwanese carrier is thus expected to seek a follow-up arrangement for the trade.
