HYUNDAI PLATINUM (5,023 teu) concludes baby-overpanamax quintet

New-York listed ship owner Container Carrier Corporation has taken delivery of the AKTOR, the last of five wide-beam containerships of 5,023 teu ordered in April 2011 at Hyundai Heavy Industries.

The entire quintet was ordered with the backing of long term charters to Hyundai Merchant Marine (HMM), for whom the AKTOR will trade as HYUNDAI PLATINUM.

The HYUNDAI PLATINUM is to join the Far East – ECSA service offered jointly by PIL, K-Line, NYK and HMM under the respective route names ‘SSA1’, ‘AESAL1’ and ‘NHX1’.

With the delivery of the new vessel, Hyundai Heavy Industries, the Container Carrier Corporation and Hyundai Merchant Marine conclude the five-strong series of P-class baby-overpanamax ships which consisted of HYUNDAI PRESTIGE, HYUNDAI PREMIUM, HYUNDAI PARAMOUNT, HYUNDAI PRIVILEGE and HYUNDAI PLATINUM.
