Transpacific: Zim takes slots on revived Evergreen ‘CPS2’ and leaves CSCL’s ‘AAC’

Zim is to take slots on Evergreen’s Transpacific service ‘CPS2’, with a first sailing from Ningbo on 6 June.

The hitherto suspended loop was revived earlier this month by Evergreen and the Taiwanese carrier is in the process of phasing-in five ships on the following rotation: Ningbo, Shanghai, Los Angeles, Oakland, Ningbo.

In parallel, Zim will stop its participation on the CSCL-operated ‘AAC’. On this loop, the Israeli carrier was slotting, with its coverage limited to: Qingdao, Shanghai, Busan, Los Angeles and Qingdao.

Zim therefore continues to maintain a total of four services on the Transpacific trade lane. In addition to the aforementioned, branded ‘NSP’, these are:

  • the ‘PNX’, covering South East Asia, on which Zim is a vessel provider, alongside Hapag-Lloyd and OOCL
  • the ‘AS1’, operated by Evergreen
  • the ‘NWX’, operated by Hapag-Lloyd
