MOL and APL revise China – Middle East rotation

Effective end of May, the China – Middle East Gulf ‘CMI’/’WAX’ service jointly operated by MOL and APL will drop one of its two Bahrain calls and add an additional call at the UAE hub of Jebel Ali. So far, the loop included an unusual double call in the order of Bahrain, Dammam, Bahrain. Instead, the Jebel Ali call will now be divided into a dedicated import call and a new export call at the end of the Middle East port rotation.

The 6,350 teu APL NEW JERSEY will be the last vessel making a Bahrain double call, while the newly phased-in 8,500 teu APL NEW YORK will inaugurate the revised rotation which reads:

Busan, Kwangyang, Qingdao, Ningbo, Singapore, Jebel Ali, Bahrain, Dammam, Jebel Ali, Singapore, Ningbo, Busan.

The Hong Kong-based OOCL, is a slot partner on the service.
