Seven killed as 1,800 teu JOLLY NERO crashes into Genoa control tower

Reuters reports that the 1,800 teu JOLLY NERO, operated by Italian carrier Linea Messina, crashed into a control tower in the port of Genoa, the accident claiming the life of seven persons.

The cause of the accident which happened at about 21:00 GMT, is still unclear.

The 1976 built, 240m long ship was deployed by Linea Messina on their Mediterranean to Middle East loop.
