Rickmers-Linie adds tenth vessel to eastbound RTW Pearl String MPP-Service

Rickmers-Linie, the Hamburg-based operator of multipurpose liner and semi-liner services, has added a tenth vessel to its eastbound Round-the-World Pearl String Service.

The 30,000 dwt RICKMERS SAVANNAH was delivered by Jinling Shipyard in November 2010 and traded as HYUNDAI ULSAN until recently.

The ship, originally ordered by Rickmers and then chartered out to Hyundai Merchant Marine, is a sister of the nine ‘Superflex MPP’ class units already deployed on the service.

The Pearl String upgrade follows Rickmers’ launch of a new westbound Round-the-World Service in March.
