WEC Lines opens third North Europe – Iberia service

Feeder operator WEC Lines is to open a third North Europe – Iberia service, effective 11 May.

The MSC subsidiary has chartered two 868 teu sister vessels, the Sietas-168 type units ROBERT and BJORG, to sail on the following two-week rotation: Rotterdam, Tillbury, Antwerp, Vigo, Leixoes, Sines, Lisbon, Rotterdam.

This service will operate in addition to two existing loops of MSC:

  • the ‘Accordion’ service, which links Antwerp to North Spain, Portugal, East Spain, in three weeks;
  • a ‘sister’ two week North Europe-Iberia service concentrating on Atlantic ports.

This new service follows the recent opening, on 26 April, of MacAndrews’ (CMA CGM Group) ‘NFX’, which also links the UK and Benelux to Portugal.
