Maersk Line drops last West African call on its Med-South Africa service

Maersk Line is to further streamline its Med-South Africa service with the withdrawal of the northbound Luanda call.

The 1,347 teu RICKMERS MALAYSIA will make the final call at Luanda on 16 May on her way from Cape Town to Algeciras. Since the loop’s Dakar call was already removed in October 2012, the rotation turns into a straight Algeciras/Tanger – South Africa bridge without any West African ports.

The port of Luanda continues to be linked to Algeciras and Tanger on Maersk’s West African dedicated services WAF5+ and WAF5.
