Hanjin launches Baltic feeder ‘RFS’

Effective May 6, Hanjin Shipping will operate its own standalone Baltic Sea feeder service between the German main port of Hamburg (which among others is a CKYH hub), St Petersburg and Kotka. For this purpose, Hanjin has chartered the 1,050 teu EVOLUTION. The vessel will be the only ship on the new service which Hanjin markets as ‘RFS’ (Russia Finland Service) and it will offer one departure every eleven days on an eleven-day round trip via the Kiel Canal.

Hanjin so far served Kota via Unifeeder and the Korean carrier is believed to continue to use several common feeders in addition to the ‘RFS’ to cover the Baltic.
