CMA CGM and Maersk Line are both about to put a halt to their respective East Med ‘Citrus’ services.
The French carrier’s service linking Port Said to Novorossyisk will stop April 10, with the 1,118 teu DS ACCURACY immediately redeployed in the West Med, whereas the 957 teu ALEXANDER SIBUM is is changing hands and will now be trading in the Mediterranean for Unifeeder account.
Maersk had modified their service back in February, where the Mersin call was dropped at the benefit of Port Said. The Danish operator is now expected to follow the same weather and crops logics and to suspend the service for good, around mid May. Exact date will be communicated at a later stage.
